Aaron KannePresident 2024-2025

Aaron Kanne

Aaron Kanne is the executive director, project execution office at Care Logistics, located in Alpharetta, GA. He received his B.S. in industrial and management systems engineering from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, and his master's degree in health systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He currently serves as an SHS board member and has been an active member of SHS since 2008 and IIE since 2001. He is also PMP Certified through the Project Management Institute and has been since 2010.

Elizabeth Gentry

Elizabeth Gentry, Ph.D. is a solution value analyst at Philips working within the hospital patient monitoring team. She received her black belt in Six Sigma from IISE. She previously worked for the University of Louisville as an assistant professor of industrial engineering and CHRISTUS Health working in healthcare process improvement.



Valerie BoelmanPresident-Elect 2024-2025

Valerie Boelman

Valerie Boelman is the AVP of process improvement and engineering at UnityPoint Health - Des Moines. Valerie is currently an SHS Board member and Diplomate. She holds a master's degree in healthcare engineering from Texas Tech University and a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Iowa State University.



Ali HobbsDirector 2022 - 2025

Ali Everett

Receiving my BS/MS in IE at Clemson, I realized the importance of IEs in healthcare. I have over 5 years experience consulting in hospitals. Currently, I am a project manager for the Facility Activation Solutions team at CBRE. Working with SHS, I realized we have a large group of students and professionals who are passionate about healthcare and want to make it better. I'm excited to help!



James RawsonDirector 2022 - 2025

James Rawson

James Rawson is vice chair of operations and special projects at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Radiology and a senior lecturer at Harvard Medical School. He is the lead for Applied Engineering and Creating Value in Clinical Operations at the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science and is a Baldrige Examiner.

Neal Moriconi

Neal Moriconi is a resource manager for Omnicell Inc. where he enables professional services through staffing and balancing fatigue and draws on data to tell business stories. Neal has a master's in industrial engineering from UCF after earning bachelor's degrees from Virginia Tech; he and his family live in Orlando.



Bianca GarciaDirector 2023 -2026

Bianca Garcia

Bianca Garcia serves as the transplant quality manager for Emory Healthcare in Atlanta. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2014 with a B.S. in industrial engineering. Bianca has previously served as the SHS Conference Chair for the Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference 2018.



ShayBergmannDirector 2024 -2027

Shay Bergmann

Shay Bergmann is a Technical Manager in the Strategy Department at Mayo Clinic, leading teams of engineers to tackle healthcare's most pressing challenges. They are proud to hold a BS and MS in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Northern Illinois University.

Shay currently serves as HSPI Networking and Activities Conference Chair. They also served as the SHS Education Chair from 2020-2023.


Avi FishmanDirector 2024 -2027

Avi Fishman

Avi has held leadership positions in healthcare administration for over 30 years. He has been with Memorial Healthcare Systems since 2013, and is currently the Administrative Director of Process Improvement. Prior to coming to MHS, Avi was a Quality & Patient Safety Black Belt as well as a Financial Operations Black Belt at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for 7 years. He has served as a Young Professionals mentor (2020-2022) and on HSPI Conference Marketing committee(2022-2024)
